"Bumblebee" cars spotted in Orchard Road! - part 2

This 2nd ‘Bumblebee lookalike’, a Lamborghini Murcielago, was spotted outside the same hotel on the same day as ‘Bumblebee I’, that was featured in yesterday’s post. Both cars were parked at the extreme ends of the same row of parallel parking lots. Talk about coincidence! I think both the drivers probably know each other and they could be at the hotel for high tea.

As usual, both ‘Bumblebees’ attracted attention from passer-bys and many snapped photos of this car too. Usually it takes one individual to start taking photos and very soon, other people will follow suit. I wondered if the other ‘photographers’ were fans of high-end sports cars like me.

"Bumblebee" cars spotted in Orchard Road! - part 1

While shopping at Orchard Road over the recent Christmas festive season, I spotted some high-end sports cars parked outside a hotel. Here is one of them.

What struck me was how much their colors resembled the Transformers movie character - Bumblebee! I guess that the drivers or the owners could be ‘Bumblebee’ fans. After all, it is such a coincidence that the colors of their cars are yellow with black dorsal stripes!

Here we have the Hasbro catalog photo of the Ultimate Bumblebee Action Figure from the Transformers movie for compare and contrast. While snapping the photos of the sports cars, I imagined that the cars would suddenly ‘transform’ into their robot forms! That would have been so cool!

There were many other passer-bys taking photos of those exotic cars too. Maybe they were also fans of sports cars, or they were just taking photos because other people were doing the same…

Yellow Porche

This yellow Porche was spotted at Sentosa when I went there with a friend. I was quite happy to see it, although I would be more thrilled if it had been a Lamborghini instead. I knew I was setting up my hopes too high for that kind of miracle. As I have never seen a yellow Porche so up close before, I decided to take some photos as a souvenir. I'm not sure which model this Porche is though. If you do, it will be great if you can let me know.
It was only this year that I started noticing super sports cars, after I fell in love with the Lamborghini. It's a tall order hoping to always spot a Lamborghini whenever I go out, hence it's a nice bonus to see other sports cars too. That's why I do sometimes take photos of non-Lamborghini super cars. However if I run out of memory space on my mobile phone, I'll give priority to taking Lamborghini photos!

White Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

I was absolutely delighted to snap these photos of a beautiful white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder in front of Meritus Mandarin Hotel over the weekend. This was the model that made me fall in love with this brand of supercar.

The first time I saw a white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder in person was during the National Day preview in late June 2007. That car was part of a performance there. After that I fell in love with the Lamborghini and I started taking photos of these gorgeous supercars whenever I chance upon them.

Dark Grey Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640

My first Lamborghini photos taken in front of Meritus Mandarin Hotel at Orchard Road, over the weekend. My friend and I had just parted ways after an afternoon of window shopping. She passed by this stunning Lamborghini and alerted me. I was just nearby at Ngee Ann City and quickly rushed over to take these shots.

I think it was a dark grey LP-640 but it looked almost black in color because of the late dusk conditions. The photos were taken at around 7.30pm and it was tough getting good shots without the catching the glaring headlights or moving motions of other cars in the background. After multiple shots, I snared these photos with my 1-year old 2-megapixel camera mobile phone!
