F1 Renault racing car

This F1 Renault racing car was on display in front Marriot Hotel during the F1 season in Singapore last month. There were endless streams of people taking photos of it, hence it was tough getting these clear shots of the car without having strangers blocking the view of the car.

This direct side view shot was the hardest photo to take. You can see someone standing at the far corner of the photo, but at least the view of the car is unblocked in this shot! I nearly gave up since it was not a Lamborghini, but a 'by-the-way' kind of photo to take.

I didn't really get into the F1 craze last month despite my fondness and admiration for Lamborghinis and fast supercars in general. I do not fancy race cars that are shaped like F1 cars. They kinda resemble geckos sans the 'tail'. I know the design is for aero-dynamics reasons but I still do not like it. Nevertheless, these photos of a real F1 car still make good souvenirs of the first F1 race event held in Singapore!

Green Lamborghini Gallardo

This lovely and striking green Lamborghini Gallardo was parked outside Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I was there for a school friend's wedding dinner and when we all came out of the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by this rare sight of a supercar in an unsual color. After my friends and I took some photos, the driver came out with his lady companion and then drove off silently. We followed them to the main road but the Lamborghini remained silent as it was driven down the main road..

White Audi R8

I first saw this Audi model parked in front of Tangs a few months ago but didn't get a chance to take a photo of it. Then I saw it being driven along Orchard Road twice. Finally I came across this white R8 parked at Hilton Hotel. Too bad I wasn't able to take a photo of its front view because another car came along and parked there, blocking out most of the car view for a good photo! Nevertheless, it's a quite beautiful car!

Black Lamborghini Gallardo Nera

I believe that this black Lamborghini Gallardo is a Nera because of the matte finishing on its bonnet and roof etc. At first when I was approaching it from a afar, I thought that there was some reflection or mud on its bonnet. It was only when I went nearer did I notice the huge 'raging bull' logo emblossed on the bonnet! Super cool!

Now this particular Lamborghini was spotted at the most unexpected place and timing. I was actually going on a day trip to Malaysia that day. So there I was waiting for my tour mates and tour bus to arrive at the Newton Circus Hawker Centre carpark.

I was a bit early, reaching there before them at around 7.30am on that Saturday morning. Needless to say the carpark was quite devoid of cars and people. It sure didn't take me long to spot this baby in the near empty carpark!

As an added bonus, just before I left the place in my tour bus, the Lamborghini driver came out from the Hawker Centre (after his breakfast there presumably). He started the engines of the Nera and drove it quietly past my tour bus (on the side that I was seated!) to exit the carpark. When he turned to the main road outside, he accelerated off but in a moderated volume of the engine sound. I think he must be tired from a Friday night of partying at St James or Clarke Quay perhaps, and was at Newton Circus for a quick breakfast before heading home to sleep!

Orange Lamborghini Gallardo III

My 3rd sighting of an orange Lamborghini Gallardo (all 3 had different license plate numbers), and the 2nd Lamborghini sighting for me at Marriot Hotel! This one was parked on the other side of the hotel service road, unlike the first one I saw there some months ago. It seems like orange is a popular color for Lamborghini owners here.

Again it was a tricky task getting this photo. My 2-year old 2-megapixel camera mobile phone could not zoom that far, so I had to stand in the middle of the rather busy hotel service road to take a quick shot before the incoming vehicles came in round a blindspot bend. At last I did it and here's the only shot I took. There was no way to take a photo of the back view of the car due to lack of space behind it.

Black Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640 II

I rarely need to pass by Hilton Hotel even though it's a hotspot for viewing exotic supercars in Singapore. On this occasion, I was rewarded with another rare sighting of a black Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640 parked there. Unlike the other Lamborghinis I spotted there before, this one was parked on the other side of the hotel service road, so I had to cross over there to take these photos.

As with taking photos of shining black supercars that are so low in height, I tend to capture a lot of reflection of the nearby building on the car. There has been another Lamborghini 'drought' for me lately and it has been a long while since I last sighted one. This lucky sighting really made my day!

Yellow Ferrari F430 II

Now this is an exceptional Ferrari photo because it was taken while I stopped my car at a traffic lights junction. Yes I was driving that day and I had just stopped at the red lights when this yellow Ferrari F430 pulled up in front of my car. I quickly whipped out my mobile phone and snapped this photo. It was a great shot as this was the best zoom that my 2-year old 2-megapixel camera mobile phone could manage. As usual, sighting a supercar made me very happy for the rest of the day!

Grey Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

This was the first time I saw this model of Lamborghini in person. When I took these photos in front of Meritus Mandarin Hotel, I did realise that it looks a bit different from the normal Gallardo, besides having the obvious spoiler at the back. The boot has a glass cover that allows you to see the powerful twin engines inside! Now that's a really cool feature!

It was only much later that I learnt that this model is known as the Superleggera, a variant of the Gallardo just like the Spyder. It is also distinguished by a black stripe on each side of the car and black wheel rims, giving it a street rally car image. I like the 'titanium' shade of grey on this Superleggera. I'm sure this color will also look fantastic on the normal Gallardo!

Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Oh I love seeing yellow Lamborghinis and it's the trademark color of this brand of supercar! This is my 2nd sighting of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, the 1st one being a white one in front of Meritus Mandarin Hotel some months ago. Though I not usually a big fan of convertibles, I really love this model simply because it is a Lamborghini, haha!

Whenever I am lucky enough to see a Lamborghini while I'm at Orchard Road or wherever, I will feel so thrilled that my elated feeings last all the way home. I'd also admire the Lamborghini photos that I had just taken with my mobile phone that day while on the way home in the public transport. It's a feeling like striking the lottery for me!

Orange Lamborghini Gallardo II

Spotting this bright-colored Lamborghini Gallardo was a pleasant for me! I was passing by Tangs on my way home and parked right in front of Marriot Hotel was this orange Gallardo! At first, no one else seemed to be interested in this supercar parked there. It was only after I finished taking these photos did other people start snapping photos of it too. This is my 2nd orange Gallardo sighting but it's not the same car as the 1st one I saw before.

This is my first Lamborghini sighting at Tangs/Marriot Hotel and I seldom pass by this way too. It was a bit tricky taking the front view photos of this Lamborghini because I had to stand in the middle of the hotel service road. Incoming vehicles kept coming in round a blindspot bend, so I had to watch out for them as I took these shots. Luckily I didn't had to wait long for the service road to be clear for safe photography!

Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo

The yellow Gallardo is a popular trademark model of the Lamborghini. It's like the Lamborghini has to be in yellow in color, just as the Ferrari has to be red color. This night photo was taken at usual supercar viewing hotspot, Meritus Mandarin Hotel.

I was about to head for home after doing some shopping at Orchard Road when I chanced upon this wonderful surprise sighting. Although I usually look forward to seeing a Lamborghini whenever I'm at Orchard Road, I learnt to leave it to fate to surprise me instead and it does that! My trip to Orchard Road that day had been fruitful with these photos!

Orange Lamborghini Gallardo

Yes! I hit another jackpot when I passed by Hilton Hotel on a recent weekend! This is my first photo of an orange Lamborghini Gallardo! I very much prefer to spot and take photos of Lamborghinis and other supercars at Hilton Hotel as there is no barrier between passerbys and the supercars parked there. It's even better if the supercars are parked on the side of the hotel service road that is nearer the hotel, instead of the other side nearer the pavement and vegetation.

Oh mine, this bright orange Gallardo is so beautiful in person! I remember feeling a little awkward as I whipped out my mobile phone to take photos while the hotel doormen watched me. They later told me to go ahead and take the photos. I guess that they are already used to seeing such attention given to the supercars parked there. To think that I nearly 'squealed' with delight when I sighted this car that day! Luckily I kept my composure and didn't, haha!

Lamborghini wheels & logo

These are the close up shots of the wheels and tyres of the Twin "Transformers Bumblebee" Lamborghinis that were mentioned in my previous blog post. I heard from a friend that each Lamborghini tyre costs SGD 5,000.00 to replace! Holy wow! A typical Toyota Altis tyre only costs a 'paltry' SGD 80.00+. Super wow!

Here's the wheel and tyre close up of the other Twin Bumblebee Lamborghini. The same friend of mine also told me that the Lamborghini clutch alone costs SGD 20,000 to replace! My goodness, no wonder the Lamborghini remains a dream car for many. If only I too have the luxury of splurging grands of surplus money on such supercars, like the owners of these Twins.

Last but not least is the photo of the "Raging Bull" logo of mighty Lamborghini. I didn't manage to get an even closer shot of this logo because I was separated by a small fence beside the car. There were also a couple of hotel staff stationed nearby, presumably to 'babysit' the supercars and keep them 'safe' from passerbys. People can see, can take photographs but cannot touch, hehe!

Twin "Transformers Bumblebee" Lamborghinis!

These shots were taken early this year and although their colors are a little unusual for real cars, they remain one of my favourite Lamborghini photos that I have taken. I recognised the ‘Bumblebee’ Lamborghini that was parked in front, as the same one I had previously blogged about. It used to have red colored headlights but it looks better now with clear headlights. The previous red headlights gave it an ‘evil’ look. See the earlier post of my first sighting of this ‘Bumblebee’ Lamborghini here.

I recall being very pleasantly surprised, and so were the many passerbys along Orchard that day, to find 2 Lamborghini Murcielago super luxury sports cars painted in the exact same unusual colors. The cars did attract the attention of many passerbys, as evident in the above photo. I had thought that finding a Lotus and a Lamborghini Murcielago in ‘Bumblebee’ colors was already quite exceptional. I didn’t expect to find another Lamborghini Murcielago adorned in ‘Bumblebee’ colors here and both Lamborghinis were parked together on that same day. I was almost reluctant to leave them after taking their photos. My trip to Orchard Road that day had not been in vain!

White Lamborghini Gallardo

I have a backlog of Lamborghini photos to post since the end of the recent Lamborghini 'drought'. Suddenly all those seemingly 'missing' Lamborghinis re-surfaced, and I was only too happy to take more photos of them!

This beautiful white Lamborghini Gallardo was seen parked outside Hilton Hotel. This place happens to be another hotspot for viewing exotic supercars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris etc., on weekend afternoons especially, besides at Meritus Mandarin Hotel.

I love the Gallardo in white color. Some people find that white is too 'tame' or dull a color for the Lamborghini. It should be in flashy colors like bright yellow, they say. Yellow is after all the trademark color of this Italian supercar.

I do like the Lamborghini in yellow, but white is also fine with me as it looks elegant, provided of course if you can keep your car spotlessly clean when you drive it out. This is my first Gallardo photo, though I've also taken a photo of a white Gallardo Spyder.

Black Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640

After what seems like a long Lamborghini 'drought' of nearly a month, the seemingly elusive Lamborghini re-appeared once more before my eyes! This stunningly beautiful black Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640 was photographed outside Meritus Mandarin Hotel, the number one hotspot to view Lamborghinis and other exotic supercars in Singapore!

The black supercar was so shiny that its bonnet kept reflecting the image of the hotel, no matter which height and angle I took the photos from. It was also a bit tricky taking the rear view photo because I had to stand on the hotel service road where all the cabs and other visitors' cars were constantly streaming past. Luckily I managed to snap the above shot before the next vehicle came along!

Black Porche Carrera

The Lamborghini 'drought' continues from last month to this month. Hence I decided to take photos of this black Porche so as not go home 'empty-handed'. The Porche was so spotlessly clean that its sloping bonnet reflects the light easily. You can see the sky on half the car itself!

As I'm not familiar with Porche cars and its various models (being able to confidently identify a Boxster only), I only know that this is a Porche Carrera from the obvious letterings on its boot. I have to admit that the Porche does look good in black color. I usually tend to see them in silver and other light colors.

Yellow Pagani Zonda Roadster

As you can tell from my past blog posts, I've been facing a Lamborghini 'drought' lately. Whenever I go to Orchard Road, I've been seeing many other brands of supercars except for the Lamborghinis. I wonder where have they all gone? On a convoy trip to Malaysia perhaps?

Anyway, I spotted this very unusual looking supercar some weeks ago and decided to photograph it. At that time, I had no idea what brand and model this car is. It was only after I saw video clips of this same car on YouTube that I realised it's a Pagani Zonda, an Italian supercar brand just like Lamborghini!

I find the exhaust design of the Pagani Zonda very unique looking as it resembles a rocket thruster. I read some of the comments on YouTube and learnt that there are only a handful of Pagani Zondas in Singapore! Hence I'm supposed to be very lucky to spot one! However, I still miss seeing the Lamborghinis...

Yellow Ferrari F430

This yellow Ferrari F430 was spotted at the same place and same day as the Red Ferrari F430 I posted about a few days ago. In the past I hardly take notice of such supercars, now it has become my hobby to photograph them whenever I see them.
The back view of this yellow Ferrari looks nicer with better color contrast than its front view. On the whole, I still feel that yellow is more of Lamborghini color while Ferrari looks more solid in red.

Red Ferrari F430

Spotted last month was this striking red Ferrari F430, that's what I believe this model is called. I'm not familiar with Ferrari models and though I'm more of a Lamborghini fan, I couldn't resist taking photos of this bright red supercar.

Like most of my Lamborghini sightings, this red Ferrari was parked in front of Meritus Mandarin Hotel, the favourite hotspot to view exotic supercars in Singapore. I wonder if the food there is really that good, if not I wonder why many drivers of such supercars like to park there?

I've also come to observe that weekend afternoons are the best times to go on a ' supercar safari' trip to Orchard Road. Sometimes if I'm lucky, I get to see Lamborghinis and other supercars being driven along Orchard Road, and I get to listen to the deep roaring sounds of their powerful engines! You may also check out video bar at the bottom of this blog for YouTube clips of Lamborghinis and other super cars filmed by other supercar enthusiasts here in Singapore.
